Bash script to create web apps

Wrote a little script that makes web apps for Chrome.
I use it to make the apps I upload here: http://web-apps.nastasiu.com/

You can get the code here:

Google Chrome Apps Extensions

I made a page only for web apps here.

My previous post got old and updating it was dumb so here’s a full list of Chrome App extensions (didn’t kept them all, added some and changed icons on a few)

Remember to download the crx files to your computer and open with Google Chrome, also don’t forget the —enable-apps parameter on the shortcut.

Chrome OS-like extensions

Update: They all moved HERE.

Like the extensions here, I made these (right click and download, view Update notice) for:

Facebook

Seesmic

Twitter

Grooveshark

Google Tasks canvas updated icon

YouTube

Google Reader suggested by Areq1987

Twimbow suggested by @filos. Updated!

Trenta Pizza

Google Analytics

Google Maps with Local Search (works directly) by @Ookong

Blogger Draft suggested by malhaarkale

Google Groups

Foursquare new

Tested on Chrome 6.0.458.1 dev under Ubuntu 10.04 (success) and on stable 5.0.375.99 under Windows XP and 7 (both fail). More tests tomorrow. You can make your own really easy, just browse the Chrome installation folder on your computer and you’ll figure it out (read the GOS article) ;)

Update: It seems they don’t work if you run them directly, so in order to install download the crx files to your computer and open with Google Chrome. Don’t forget the —enable-apps parameter on the Chrome shortcut. Also, these extensions don’t work on stable Chrome releases so far (check the post date) despite the fact that you can install them through direct link.

Update2: Latest Chrome Dev update: 6.0.466.0 removes the omnibar from the ‘special’ tabs, you can toggle it’s view by right-clicking the tab you want and select “Show/Hide toolbar”. Have fun :)

Update3: They all moved HERE.

* Don’t know if I’m allowed to do this, I couldn’t add them to Chrome Extensions site (something about comments in the manifest, hey it’s 2 a.m.). If you know something or there’s a problem, mail me: vlad[at]nastasiu[dot]com
